Penally Heritage Group
I have been working with the Heritage Group in Penally to film some of the interesting sites that they have in the village. In fact, it was from the Digital Discussions event held there last year that they suggested getting a drone for this very purpose (… little did I know how much it would change the nature of my project).
There is a Ministry of Defence firing range nearby, which makes things interesting, but the Range Commander was very accomodating and we were given permission to fly. There are many fascinating sites in the area but we were concentrating on just three of them today: St Deiniol’s Chapel, St Nicholas & St Teilo Church and the practice trenches. The trenches were constructed during Word War 1 so that trainee soldiers could experience and practice the sort of fighting that they would be exposed to when they were posted abroad.
There are many more sites to explore, so there are certain to be further aerial films of the Penally area.
