Certificates!

Back in August I wrote about our first batch of Agored Trainees, a small bunch of people who had joined a course to learn about digital media. They learned about creating and deploying videos; some digital photography and further video editing skills. What I learned was the processes involved in setting up an accredited course with Agored and then the necessary administrative procedures required for assessment, internal quality assurance and then external verification. There was a lot to learn and I took twice as long as I should have done in going through these tasks. But …
… I’m happy to say that when I arrived in work this morning there was a big, brown envelope waiting for me on my desk.

Since August I have been working with a number of different organisations in an effort to establish an efficient assessment and accreditation system. Groups such as Milford Youth Matters, the VC Gallery and our own Preseli Heartlands Project have benefitted from being able to offer their members and volunteers certified training in recognition of the work that they do. Over the next few months the plan is to establish a new, funded project which will expand on this initial pilot study … but more of that later.
