Y Pethau Bychain

I have been helping a project that is exploring the links between South West Wales and South East Ireland. This has been set up and supported by Pembrokeshire County Council’s Ancient Connections project. This particular aspect of The Little Things project explores the links between St David and St Aiden through the creation of new music and the recording and performance of choirs on both sides of the Irish Sea. So I was asked to film some footage for them. They wanted something wild and windswept and I knew of just the place. There are some amazing quarry buildings and some actual quarried land just along from Abereiddy towards Porthgain.

The filming was remote and bleak, however The Little Things project is anything but. It’s exciting to be working with this group of talented people, both young and old, from around the area. The name of the project comes from St David’s famous saying: “Gwnewch y pethau bychain mewn bywyd” … do the little things in life.
